About
Astrid Steiner is a London-based video designer specialising in stage projections, spanning genres from symphonic music to opera. Her visual career began in 2003 with live projections in Viennese techno clubs and has since expanded to include international performances at venues such as the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, the Copenhagen Phil, Expo 2010 in Shanghai, and the Benaki Museum in Athens.
Recent collaborations with director Daniela Kerck include Das Paradies und die Peri (2025) with Insula Orchestra in Paris, Turandot (2024), Oryx & Crake (music by Søren Eichberg, 2023), and Rusalka (2023), all at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. In 2024, Astrid created a visual film for Dvořák's 9th Symphony as part of the Melodrama concert series with the Copenhagen Phil, a production integrating holographic projections.
Beyond the stage, Astrid has worked as a video editor on numerous award-winning advertising and television productions. Notably, the Eurovision Song Contest opener—watched by over 200 million viewers globally—earned Gold at the Corporate Media Awards in Cannes, the World Media Award in Hamburg, and the Golden Award of Montreux (2016).
Her commercial and broadcast collaborations include work for Sotheby’s, the FA Cup England, the English Rugby Union, the London Olympics 2012, and Red Bull TV.
